Sewing the wounds by the Love of Christ

Blog, It Is Happening, Mission Trip, Outreach

Mrs. T says, “After my husband died, I was left alone. I was helpless. My traditionalist society accused me of being a curse to my spouse’s death. I was completely confused to lead my life with three children. Weeping was not an option because I had to look after my children. I had no place to share my grief and pour out my turmoil. Laboring several hours in house construction work wouldn’t fulfill

my house expenses. I was strained to the limit. In the end, I had the privilege to know Jesus and find some caring people in the local church. I realized that everything happens for a reason, and Jesus loves me too.

After a few months, when I heard of a sewing center to be established at our church, it excited me. I was the first lady to raise my hand when the pastor asked us who was interested in the sewing training. It was like a ray of hope in my life. The training will provide me with new confidence to build my own business and be capable of looking after my children. Now I can be victorious over my enemy and show that the creator of the universe has my back. Thanks to those kind hearts who feel for us even though we don’t know each other.”

Dear partners, we have successfully established a new sewing training center in one of the most remote native villages in Central Nepal. We saw a huge potential and a need for women’s empowerment through sewing training in this locality. And we were right. God manifested His mighty powers and provided us with His divine provisions.

My beloved companions, I am truly blessed to have you as my companion to serve among my people. I highly appreciate your partnership and continued prayer support. May God endow you beyond blessings.

Connecting dots

Habakkuk 3:17-18

Though the fig tree does not bud and no fruit is on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though the sheep are cut off from the fold and no cattle are in the stalls, yet I will exult in the LORD; I will rejoice in the God of my salvation!

This place has a different connection – A connection based on brotherhood and ownership. I can see that God has indeed chosen this land. It amazes me when I meet every resident attending Church and singing only His hymns. When you pass by them, you can see people greeting ‘Jaimashih’ – a Christian greeting in Nepali.

It is a privilege to serve the Lord in this land for many years. I am thankful to all my beloved native leaders in Christ, who are the forerunners serving the Lord amid life-threatening persecutions and struggles. It is the result of their hardship that these indigenous people have tasted the love of Christ and secured their eternity in Heaven.

We had the honour of doing one day conference in this village this month. The conference turned out to be an effective tool to fill the hunger of many attendees. More than 400 people attended the conference. We were so excited to see their joy and curiosity to know God’s word in a deeper understanding. When we heard so many people had come one day early only to attend the conference due to the distance issue, we were literally blessed to see ourselves as a staff of God. I can see God is using RHMI in His right timing, in a powerful way.

Would you believe it? Youths were preparing for their best choir performance for one month. Sisters were rescheduling their household chores to serve in the kitchen section for the conference. Several elderly people scheduled their elder children to carry them to the conference in baskets. Our native leaders were busily circulating the news, inviting believers, and handling the management. I could clearly see that enthusiasm in them. Blissfully, that enthusiasm brought Heaven to Earth. Everyone engaged themselves in worshiping and building intimacy with God for many hours. People were in tears, weeping, repenting, thanking God, singing, praying in tongues, and reviving their spirits. It was a blessing to be among them and witness their devotion to the Lord.

Dear partners, I hope I have established that connection for you through these words. I wish you were here to experience that energy on your own. Thank you very much for being our prayer warriors and supporting us in many appreciable ways.

The result of the conference was so impactful that the youths requested us to set up a fellowship in the evening as well. Since we had a return schedule the next day, they insisted that we spend the evening together in God’s presence and teach them new hymns and a proper way of doing praise & worship. We couldn’t refuse. Our fatigue automatically got wiped out seeing their enthusiasm for getting close to God. What else could be more exciting for us other than this?

They have a real hunger for the Lord and only want to engage themselves in God’s presence. I am sure part of it is to forget their trials and traumas and busy themselves in spiritual uplifting activities. But of more importance to them is to build intimacy with God so that blessings flow wherever they step! Their thirst for spending time with God amazes me. I have learned so much from them.

Our RHMI team shared testimonies, and personal stories, sang new songs, shared powerful sermons, and energized everyone with the power of the Holy Spirit. Witnessing them weeping and asking for God’s provision and signs and wonders through their lives was so fascinating. All they want is to become God’s mighty warriors to serve Him till their last breath. God is truly building His strong army and forts in the Himalayas.

Dear partners, your love, support, and generosities are resulting in praiseworthy achievements. We are overpowering the Himalayas and bringing Heaven on Earth. Thank you for everything.

Galatians 6:2

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfil the law of Christ.

I have no words when I see my native people serving the Lord in their insufficiency and an empty stomach. It is physically hard to utter even a word when your stomach has no food and your lips have dried out. But, on a day when my people fail to receive food, they declare it as a fasting day and rejoice in the Lord’s mercy. Whether they have food or not, they are always happy. Where are these people receiving such energy from? – I find it intriguing. I feel the burden they bear. I feel sorrow and find myself in grief. Then, I accompany them in fasting too.

This year, when I heard about such turmoil among my people due to heavy rainfall and landslides, I couldn’t resist praying for many weeks and finding the resources to go and meet them. The only source of their income, their agricultural lands, was swept away by the massive landslides. It was heart-breaking. Thanksgiving belongs to the Lord that no lives were lost. We prayed for many weeks in fasts and chain prayers.

Finally, It was a happy moment for me when I got ready to meet them at last. I must thank my closest and generous partners in Christ, who extended their hearts to my people and did the kindness of providing sacks of rice to them. More than 200 families attended the distribution program. We also worshipped God and thanked all the generous hearts in prayers. I was in tears as I saw them passing by with smiles on their face and rice sacks on their backs.

I heard one of them saying, “Now my son will eat until his stomach is full after so many days. God is really a good provider.” On behalf of my entire native beneficiaries, I offer my sincere thanks and appreciation.

Dear partners, we don’t always understand why these things happen, but I feel humbled that God led me to step in and serve among my people. Thank you very much for feeling my people’s burden and helping them raise their faith in Christ. Your partnership is always highly appreciated. May God bless you abundantly.

Miracles are happening

Blog, It Is Happening, Mission Trip, Outreach

Can you imagine? 61 new believers got baptized at once.

It was the biggest number we have recorded in a while. I was literally feeling that charge of the Holy Spirit when I heard the number. I was so eager to meet all of them and welcome them into God’s Kingdom. As I heard of it, immediately I praised the Lord and thanked Him for the miracles happening in the Himalayas. Our native leaders are successfully working day and night to gather the lost flocks and bring them to Christ, the true Shepherd. When it comes to serving the Lord amid terrific persecution and strict governmental regulations, these unsung heroes of the faith are so much appreciated. Indeed, Psalms 91 is executed among our native missionaries.

My heartfelt thanks go to Ps. R who serves the Lord in the most terrifying scenarios despite his own disabilities and personal struggles. He is indeed a true man of God. I am humbled to receive His company in ministering in the Himalayas and walk the journey together.

Ps. R says, “Pastor, gathering 61 souls is not like plucking flowers and emptying a garden. In contrast to it, it’s like gardening beautiful flowers in God’s garden. Now, these flowers will blossom and highlight the garden’s honour with sweet fragrances. I know my native people who once committed are loyal to their beliefs and disciplines. God’s grace and mercy are always among us.”

Dear partners, I love sharing the good news with you through this monthly newsletter. I am always thankful for your faithful prayer support and kind appreciation. May God bless our journey together forever. Thank you for your partnership.

God Guards This House

Blog, It Is Happening, Mission Trip, Outreach

Proverbs 24:3-4 “By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.”

I am more reassured now than I have ever been that the Lord is protecting His people and His churches. Our mission field has greatly expanded. We have churches in many places and house fellowships in many more places. As Proverbs 24:3 states, our mission field congregations are built through His wisdom and guidance. Many of our house fellowships have been investigated, raided, persecuted, and threatened. Several of our native leaders have been arrested. But, in spite of all of the persecution, the good news that changes lives continues to reach people.

But we have seen that the story has changed in the last couple of years in the Himalayas. Those persecutors who were the accusers of our leaders before have now submitted their lives to Christ. Hallelujah!!… There are still a few left that have not given their hearts to the Lord. But God is doing His mighty part. These persecutors have recognized the love of believers and the strength of their mighty God.

It made me weep when I saw this picture. The house in the picture belongs to one of those persecutors who had threatened our native leaders several times for sharing the Gospel in his village. But now, through continued prayers, fasting of our believers, and protection of the Lord, he has come to know the Lord and is

now standing as the fortress of Christ in his village.

This story is being repeated all across the Himalayas. These former prosecutors now have their own life testimonies. Their stories of how they came to know Christ, how they realized His love, and how He bestowed His love on them during their life struggle have become the Gospel to many.

As we do our best to minister to people, God takes care of the rest. Thank you, partners, for your continued support and love that has always boosted the confidence of our believers and helps them to survive in such harsh situations and combat life-threatening situations every day. We are confident that we are overcomers, and the devil must kneel before Jesus’ name.

Blessings to the reader!

They wouldn’t let me go!

Blog, It Is Happening, Mission Trip, Outreach

One particular evening was the most powerful evening of all time. Many believers had no time to attend the daytime fellowship because of their household work and day-time jobs. So, we decided to do the fellowship in the evening as everyone returns home and is free to come to worship the Lord. Indeed, our plan worked. There were so many believers in the room, so we had to shift the fellowship outside.

I am thankful to God who gave me abundant strength, wisdom, and vision of His powerful Words as I was sharing the sermon. I had one of our mission field leaders help me to  interprete into their native language that helped all the believers understand the message better. A big thanks to him too.

As time went by, they wouldn’t let me end the sermon. I was prompted to add more testimonies and scriptures from the Bible. Their eagerness to understand more about Jesus and listening to the sermons was so encouraging that I was filled with more energy and excitement. That fellowship was so powerful that many non-believers also accepted Jesus that evening. Much later than we had planned, we were able to leave by sharing thanks and appreciation and finished the evening with a feast.

Dear beloved partners, the communities are indeed transforming. The eagerness of knowing Jesus is rapidly increasing and people are wanting to know the truth, the way, and the life. Your sacrificial support and love are making it happen all over the Himalayas. Thank you for your partnership.

Radio Speaker spoke Healing

Blog, It Is Happening, Mission Trip, Outreach

Proverbs 17:17

A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.

On this past mission trip, I had the privilege of meeting my oldest companions in God’s ministry. I was filled with joy to meet my brothers after such a long time. We sat together, ate together, shared our troubles, talked about our family situations, daily experiences, persecutions while ministering, testimonies, plans, churches situations, conditions of believers, personal needs, prayer requests, and much more. As we sat together, it was exciting to remember our old days and talk about our struggles and to see how far the Lord has brought us while ministering together in their areas.

This time, as I was listening to their daily turmoil, needs, and struggles, I felt their pain. But I also could not help but appreciate their confidence in the Lord at the same time.

It blessed me so much to hear Ps. S say, “if not today, then tomorrow. If not tomorrow, then the day later. But our struggles will one day bring great rewards. Our mighty God is not deaf nor blind. We are secure in His palm.”

As I listen to their confidence and faith in the Lord, I always find myself tiny in front of them. Their conviction in God helping them through bad situations is simply incredible. It energizes me to work more for God as I see my companions are the winners of many battles of their life.

May God bless the reader.

Parentless cries

Blog, It Is Happening, Mission Trip, Outreach

As life in the most desolate high mountains is very harsh, the conditions of the children are even worse. Sometimes it is very difficult to explain the vulnerability of Himalayan children in words. There is no food, life, education, or social security in their favor. They are open to any harm and extremely vulnerable to life-threatening situations. Simply, to put it in a sentence, they have no future. They are just growing up in the woods and are ending their beautiful childhood in the dust.

My heart fills with a burden for them. I pray that these adorable and innocent hands would hold textbooks and see school doors but unfortunately, many don’t have parents. These children have their own tragic stories about their parents. Some of them haven’t ever known a father or mother. Some are completely orphaned. Some are being raised by their relatives while some are being raised by villagers. But it is difficult for these people to help these children. The ones who are raising them are helpless to feed them anymore because of poverty and their own life struggles. However, if these children could receive any external support for their studies, then they are likely to succeed and would have a brighter future.

Dear partners, would you kindly consider praying for them and their bright future? These adorable children are desperate to grow in Christ and read Bible in the Sunday school. But before that, they need to get enrolled in school to learn the letters.

In doing this, I am sure, we will be raising great native missionaries for the kingdom of Heaven.

Sharpening the axe

Blog, It Is Happening, Mission Trip, Outreach

We have mentioned before the impact made by the radio speaker in the Himalayas. Those audio messages speaking about the deep knowledge of God’s Scripture that are recorded on the SD card have played a vital role among the uneducated community in bringing many to Jesus. I must thank our generous partners for your support for these radio speakers that are handy and easy to handle.

Ps. P says, “The technology has come far, hasn’t it? We have never imagined that we would ever touch such technologies. This is so engaging. I am so happy that now I can learn more from God’s scripture. I will carry it wherever I shall go and work. Many will be amazed to see this. I will share more of the Gospel through it. This will help me to share sermons in our church service too. Praise the Lord. I am so happy, pastor.”

Dear partners, I believe in a small act of kindness resulting in a big impact. This is how we have reached many in the Himalayas already. Thanks to you who are always standing with us in your regular prayer. May God bless you.

A way in the dark valley

Blog, It Is Happening, Mission Trip, Outreach

“To your descendants, I will give this land.” Genesis 12:7

In many remote and hidden villages, there are many untold testimonies of changed lives and the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Our believers living in terrible suffering know the deepest secrets of the unreached Himalayas. They come from a community worshipping natural deities. Every oldest boy of the house is trained in witch doctor practices and the occult. This way of life does not bring any happiness or hope for a better future.

Now everything is changed. When these restless souls learned of Jesus, their traditional beliefs ceased to exist. As the feet of native missionaries reached the village, the demonic hold over that place was defeated. It is our greatest honor to serve the Lord in such a deadly place.

Recently our team hiked for a full day to reach such a place. We held a big conference among 200+ believers. All of them came from distant places. They were so thirsty for the scriptures that they were presented. The powerful messages filled that thirst for everyone, from elders to children. It was a joy to be among them and be welcomed by their warm hospitality. At the end of the conference, we enjoyed a feast and discussed our difficulties and conditions before and after the pandemics.

Our senior native missionary Ps. R says, “He is our refuge and our fortress; My God, in Him we trust. He has covered our believers with His feathers. And under His wings, we have received refuge; His truth is our shield and buckler. If we had never known Him, we would perish away in the darkest valley of death. But now we walk through that dark valley in His light. We will always be grateful to all those who prayed and supported us.”

Dear partners, it is indeed a glory to the Lord that the people of this land have bowed before Jesus and are now worshiping Him. Your generosity and prayerful support has built a church as a lighthouse comforting many in their desperate anguish.

Thank you very much for your partnership.
