The Birth of Messiah!

Blog, It Is Happening, Mission Trip, Outreach

The Christmas celebrations at Journey Fellowship Church and churches throughout the Himalayas were a great success! One could feel the festive atmosphere as believers gathered to celebrate the birth of Jesus and the hope and love that He brings.

The celebrations featured various activities, including joyous carol singing, dancing, gift sharing, and feasts. Non-believers also participated and enjoyed the festivities, and many came to understand the meaning and significance of the birth of the redeemer Jesus Christ. These programs were an excellent way for believers to come together and celebrate the holiday in a meaningful and fun way.

The singing and dancing were delightful as believers lifted their voices in praise and moved to the rhythm of the music. The skits were also a hit, as they provided a creative and engaging way for attendees to learn about the story of Jesus’ birth and the significance of the holiday.

Overall, the Christmas celebrations at Journey Fellowship Church and churches throughout the Himalayas were a great success. We thank God for His faithfulness and the opportunity to come together and celebrate the birth of Jesus in a important and joyous way.

Dear Partners, How was your Christmas? We would love to be part of the blessings you enjoyed with your friends and family. Do share them with us too.

Warm Regards in the Cold

Blog, It Is Happening, Mission Trip, Outreach

I am enormously pleased to share that many active and dynamic house fellowships are taking place in the Himalayan region. Despite the cold weather, people from distant places gather to hear the Words of God and seek His guidance and direction for their lives.

The atmosphere of the evening fellowship in Mid-West Nepal was electric as believers gathered together to worship, pray, and study the Bible. Several came forward to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior after hearing the Gospel message.

It was a powerful reminder of the transformative power of the Gospel and the hunger that many people have for the love and hope that it offers. Despite their challenges and hardships, these eager people were willing to brave the cold and travel great distances to seek the truth and find salvation in Jesus.

We thank God for His faithfulness and the opportunity to share His love and message with those seeking Him. We pray that these new believers will continue to grow in their faith and be a light to those around them, sharing the hope and love of Jesus with those in need.

Thank you, my beloved Friends and partners, for your sacrifical love and prayers over my people.

Brotherhood Reunion

Blog, It Is Happening, Mission Trip, Outreach

The recent Men’s Summit Conference in two separate places in the Himalayas was a resounding success, with powerful and encouraging sermons that energized the missionaries in attendance and uplifted their spirits. The conference was attended by a diverse group of missionary brothers from all walks of life, united in their desire to serve the Lord and spread His message of love and hope.

The conference began with a stirring opening address with a powerful message of Arise and Build.

Throughout the conference, attendees were treated to a series of inspiring talks and workshops, each designed to help them grow in their faith and become more effective in their missionary work. I shared my personal experiences and insights, offering practical tips and encouragement to help attendees overcome challenges and stay focused on their mission.

One of the conference’s highlights was a panel discussion featuring veteran missionaries who shared their stories of faith and resilience in the face of adversity. As their testimonies unfolded, I was deeply touched by the struggles and triumphs they faced while spreading the Gospel.

Overall, the Men’s Conference was a powerful and uplifting experience that left attendees feeling energized and inspired to continue their work for the Lord. The conference provided a valuable opportunity for attendees to connect, share their experiences, and receive encouragement and guidance as they seek to fulfil their calling as missionaries.

After the successful Men’s Conference, the missionary brothers enjoyed a feast to celebrate their hard work and the uplifting experience of the conference. The brothers took turns sharing stories and memories from their time as missionaries, laughing and reminiscing about the challenges and triumphs they had experienced along the way. Many expressed gratitude for the opportunity to attend the conference and be inspired by the powerful sermons and workshops.

As the evening drew to a close, the brothers gathered around the table to give thanks for the food, the fellowship, and the opportunity to serve the Lord. They left the feast feeling renewed and energized, ready to continue their missionary work with renewed vigor and dedication.

Health Is Wealth!

Blog, It Is Happening, Mission Trip, Outreach

Nothing is as essential as good health. As a thirsty person understands the importance of water, a sick patient knows the importance of timely treatment. Due to untimely treatment, many lives are lost in the remotest Himalayas. The inaccessible villages do not have proper health facilities. Ambulances are beyond options, and robust porters are hard to find. However, one easy and quick solution to help overcome these problems can be ‘Stretchers.’

Stretchers can be handy, carried by four persons, laid down anywhere, and people can switch out carrying the injured when they tire. It can be helpful in the remotest areas with the unavailability of transportation.

Ps. U says, “Pastor, if we only had had this stretcher last month, we might have saved 56 years old Sanumaya. She fell from the tree while cutting leaves. Unfortunately, the tree was on a steep edge, and she fell nearly 30 feet down. She could have been killed instantly, but she was breathing. The watchers called us, and we ran to her and tried to bring her to a hospital in a basket. But, she was unconscious and we struggled to lift her so that there would be no more physical complications. Finally, we managed to carry her in a basket. But we lost her on the way. It was so sad to see her children crying uncontrollably. We felt so helpless.

The stretcher can be a minor asset in today’s time, but it carries a significant value in the underdeveloped villages of the Himalayas. Stretchers are a good standby asset to help in emergencies. I am thankful that God has prompted great men of God to have their concern over such an essential need of our village. May God bless them in a multiplying manner.”

Dear partners, the struggle of daily life in villages is still intolerable. They are beyond one’s imagination. Thank you for your love and generosity through these stretchers. They are small yet impactful support for my people. Thank you very much for your partnership.

Louder And Clearer!

Blog, It Is Happening, Mission Trip, Outreach

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel.” – commands Jesus. As this generation has become digitalized, transportable, and accessible, sharing the gospel must also be easy technically. However, the inaccessible, unreached, and unfolded Himalayan trails have many struggles to pass through. In terms of taking a wise step, getting digital help from technology can be beneficial in such cases. Compared to today’s competitive world, sharing the gospel can be made more convenient, impactful, engaging, and exciting through different means.

Mini Radio speakers have become one of those means. Those speakers are portable, durable, handy, and last longer on one full-time charge. The 250+ updated Nepali audio messages and sensational Nepali Christian hymns are captivating and influential. Our leaders carry them in their missions, fellowships, and household work. The high altitude of the Himalayas makes the audio sound loud and clear throughout the trails and alleyways. It eventually preaches God’s gospel not just to people but the nature and every creature.

Dear partners, we are delighted to distribute mini radio speakers to our capable mission field leaders and instruct them to in how to use them gently and purposefully. Thank you for your love and generosity in building God’s kingdom in the Himalayas. Thank you for your partnership.

Jesus In A Broader Screen

Blog, It Is Happening, Mission Trip, Outreach

Seeing and hearing are better when it comes to learning. Visual learning is conducive to convincing and making someone understand with ease. Our handy projectors have helped hundreds of uneducated villagers understand Jesus and Christianity’s messages. Through Christian movie shows, we have succeeded in bringing hundreds of people to Jesus and saving their souls for eternity.

Christian movie shows bring not only messages but also excitement due to new digital experiences among underprivileged people in the Himalayas. People gather quickly and stay for hours visualizing the show’s story and gist. Influential movies such as the Jesus’ movie dubbed in Nepali and other native languages, as well as other Nepali Christian movies have brought many attendees to tears. We have seen miracles, healing, and signs and wonders because of these movies. It is our untiring efforts to ease God’s assigned tasks and impact hundreds of lives with one comprehensive strategy. And people are attracted to it quickly.

Dear partners, thank you once again for your abundant love and for sharing your hearts through these portable and durable projectors. We believe the devices will result in the success of the desired plans. May God bless you more.

Struggle For Reward

Blog, It Is Happening, Mission Trip, Outreach

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season, we will reap if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9

This month’s mission trip has been memorable once again. I am finding difficulty in compiling the experiences through words. The feeling is beyond expressible words. The hardest part was the weather. With the start of the monsoon in Nepal, floods and landslides are more likely to occur. The volume of water has risen in the river. The bridges are dangerous, and the paths are slippery. There are leeches and mosquitoes everywhere. Nepal is facing a severe dengue outbreak due to the rise in mosquitoes.

Dengue is endemic in Nepal. The country is experiencing a surge in cases that started in the week commencing 8 August. Between January and 28 September 2022, 109 confirmed and suspected dengue cases and 38 confirmed deaths, affecting all seven provinces.

Despite the severity, we managed to reach our mission fields and accomplish our projects. The physical risks were parallel to our mission. However, our spirit did not fall. We fixed our eyes on Jesus and were determined to reach out to our people with His unconditional and powerful love. We hiked day and night to reach our destinations and share fellowships among our awaiting people. Because of a broken bridge, we had to cross a vast, flooded river. It was terrifying. We questioned whether we would make it or not. But as Psalms 91 says – ‘For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways,’ He had His hands covering us the whole time.

Dear partners, thank you very much for your moral support and continued prayer for our safety. They are the most valuable assets for our victory. We are making it. The face of the Himalayas is changing. Our companionship has resulted in the remarkable transformation of impoverished villages and underprivileged tribes. As compared to what we are accomplishing, our physical hardships are nothing. Despite our difficulties, we enjoy every moment of our missions because we know we’ll be rewarded soon.

Happy to minister with you! Thank you very much for your partnership.

A Brave Man Doesn’t Feel Pain?

Blog, It Is Happening, Mission Trip, Outreach

There is a well-known saying in the eastern culture for men- Brave man doesn’t feel pain. However, the statement is contrary – either the man must at least be brave, or the one who feels pain is a coward. In addition, men are supposed to refrain from resting. They are never to express their emotions. A man must suffer every agony and carry the responsibility until he dies.

But men do cry. Men do feel pain. There is nothing such as brave or coward regarding men’s capability or potential. The truth is that men do not express their discomfort by nature. By the law of the Old Testament, a man must eat bread by the sweat of his brow. However, he needs rest, a comfort zone, and a place where he can place all his pain and experiences, build confidence, talk about new ideas, make friends, come close to God, discuss plans, revive spiritual energy, and live freely.

It has been possible at the Men’s Summit – a men’s conference highlighted to dig out the characteristics of husband, son, brother, father, businessman, or leader. Men’s Summit helps exchange each other’s personal, family, and spiritual sufferings and difficulties.

Dear partners, It is a delightful honor to inform you that we have conducted the Summit in two of our mission fields in the furthest east. The Summit succeeded with powerful teachings, bible readings, worship, ice-breaking games, testimony sharing, feedback collection, a delicious feast, and photo sessions.

Ps. R said, “We have a lot of fellowships for sisters. Various churches and events hold monthly and annual women’s conferences. But men’s conferences are infrequent. It is my first ever experience being a part of a conference with only brothers. I am delighted to be open and relaxed and share my problems with someone who can think, analyze, and investigate how I feel. We, brothers, can feel each other, think the same way, and explore solutions by putting our feet in each other’s shoes. The men’s Summit is an inspiring movement that can make buoyant all brothers in their personal and spiritual life. I am delighted to be a part of it, Pastor.”

Dear partners, we have made it once again. Thank you for your continued prayers and well wishes. Your continued generosity and commitment have resulted in our missionary brothers’ outstanding leadership and spirits’ upliftment. May God keep blessing you more and more.

Digging for Peoples’ Hearts

Blog, It Is Happening, Mission Trip, Outreach

We won one more time. We are the victor in the Lord. We are delighted to let you know that we have successfully built wells in nine different villages that have always faced a safe drinking water problem. From April to September, the possibility of bringing such a significant impact has only been possible due to your lasting partnership and commendable promises. My dear partners, the unimaginable and undeniable problems brought by water scarcity in those areas have always got numerous problems besides water-borne diseases among children.

Besides the struggle in fetching pure drinking water from distant places, slipping on the way back home, carrying heavy pots, and running late for other urgent tasks, these villages have faced different eyebrow-raising problems such as fierce conflicts and fights. Villagers from low caste communities who are obliged to take water from a common source are often offended and threatened not to use the water source. Villagers blame each other for finishing the water by too much consumption, especially during the drought season and drying of the water source. More irrelevant fights and quarrels occur due to insufficient drinking water.

Therefore, we thank our Lord, who helped us intervene in the situation and show His equal love to them. We built 24-hour running water well where everyone, regardless of caste, gender, religion, or occupation, could come and drink from the well of life.

Dear partners, your love, prayer, generosity, and unconditional deliverance have brought unity, maintained brotherhood, and restored humanity in those highly affected villages. May God bless you increasingly.

Speeding Up

Blog, It Is Happening, Mission Trip, Outreach

“We are running out of time. We do not have time to sit, talk, and rest. Not even a second! We are getting late. We have a big job, many places to go, a hundred lives to impact, and powerful Heavenly news to pass on. We need more missionaries and energy to evangelize people.” says Ps. B.

He adds, “Many wandering people struggle amid persecution, poverty, life’s dizziness, frustrations, and daily problems. Our job is to share life-saving testimonies and bring Heaven to Earth. Let us gear up and get ready for His second coming. Our short rest or lateness can take away somebody’s life.”

His ordinary yet meaningful words filled me with more power and energy. To evangelize most hidden tribes in the Himalayas, he walked miles tearing his shoes, sweating his clothes, and emptying his stomach. Thank you, partners, for hearing my request and providing our three faithful men of God with motorcycles to speed up God’s mission. Your gracious and generous hearts have not just eased God’s work but geared up our mission and vision. Let us continue encouraging such active and energetic missionaries to reach our goal soon.

Thank you very much for your partnership. We are grateful to you for everything.
