Second Life in Jesus

Blog, It Is Happening, Outreach

Pastor P who had a stroke due to high blood pressure and a hemorrhage a few months ago is healed and enjoying his second life. He conveys his heartfelt regards and appreciation for all prayers and sacrificial supporters of RHMI.

Despite many medical complications, today he has won over his sickness.

However, half of his body is still paralyzed, and he struggles in getting up and doing normal activities.

It is a glory to God that, to every relative near or far who comes to visit him, He always shares his testimony and encourages them to accept Jesus. Despite before, walking miles to share the Gospel, he has turned his house into a Gospel sharing center. Many lives continue to be affected by his heart-touching testimony. Many accepted Jesus instantly and committed to remain in His faith forever.

The most surprising thing is that he was a pastor of a local church having 70-75 believers, but today after witnessing his testimony and sharing Jesus, the new believers in that place have exceeded more than 300. Hallelujah!

God is on the move amid lockdown!

He was excited and worried at the same time. He immediately called us and asked when we were visiting him to look after the flocks and advise him in taking care of them. He also requested us that the old church building is insufficient to hold such a huge number of believers so, the place needs a new church building. Kindly pray for this blissful reason.

Due to the pandemic lockdown and many consequences, people have become hungrier and thirstier to find eternal love, hope, and life in Jesus. We praise God for using Pastor P to manifest His greatness in such an impossible time.

However, regarding his physical and medical condition, he needs to visit the hospital for his regular medical checkup and therapies that adds more expenses to his previous dues at the Hospital. He still requires $1300 to clear his dues.

Kindly remember him in your regular devotion as he is one of our most active native missionaries in the Himalayas ministering among hundreds of believers.

We are also thankful towards our mission field coordinator Pastor A. for his perseverance, and regular follow-up of most of the mission field leaders and believers.

Thank you!

Salvation from Generational Curses

Blog, It Is Happening, Outreach

The harsh life in the Himalayas is beyond imagination. For ages, the Himalayan regions are badly affected by many demonic spirits and the devil’s clutches. The many mountains named after earthly gods can be one of its reasons. The lack of developmental infrastructures is a physical necessity that can be, but the spiritual attacks, persecutions, and rampage are destructible.

Pastor B comes from a steadfast Hindu background who struggled years with spiritual attacks on his family. For four generations, his forefathers were struggling with a curse of Epilepsy. Every elder son from his forefather’s generation was struggling with the disorder. They underwent many shamanism treatments and lost wealth, lands, and livestock in it. But they couldn’t receive salvation.

Pastor B was the fourth generation of his tribe facing the same issues. He had nothing to offer since he was out of everything. Later, he met our mission field leaders who were evangelizing and sharing the Gospel in his village.

As Pastor B heard that salvation is possible in Jesus, without any further dilemma he immediately called our mission field leaders in his home and requested them to share more about Jesus and pray for him.

After continuous follow up in his house, sharing the Gospels and more from the Bible, Pastor B started getting healed and he started going to church regularly.

He was touched by two different scriptures that talk about generational curses in Exodus 34:7 and salvation in Jesus Christ in 1 John 5:12.

Today, the generational curses have gotten completely removed from his generation because his whole family members have accepted Jesus and they are one of the most loyal believers of our RHMI family. After years of devotion and perseverance in the church, he has become the pastor of his church, leading hundreds of believers as being part of our RHMI family.

Pastor B is also an influential leader who has informed many believers about generational curses, its consequences, and solutions. He is a down to earth man, very humble, and loyal. He has served God in his most hard times, having nothing to eat and feed his children, but traveled miles to preach and share the Gospel. He says, “no turning back because I’ve decided to follow Jesus and I don’t want the repetition of generational curses to follow my generation.”

Dear partners, because of your generosities, our beloved field leaders like Pastor B have served Jesus through many ministerial services, regardless of any difficulties, time, and weather, without any anxieties and fears.

Still, kindly remember him in your prayers.

Sharing the Gospel through the Jesus Film Ministry has become easier, convenient, and effective than through words that might raise debates, confusion and conflicts sometime.

Today, the film ministry has become one of the most influential and effective ways of sharing the Gospels in the high Himalayas to those who cannot read the Bible and even those who cannot see.

Recently, the Jesus Film movie show was incorporated in many different places of the highest Himalayas resulting in a huge number of new believers and great signs and wonders.

We are grateful to those helping hands, generous hearts, and like-minded people of God who understood our struggles and visions and supported us with the modern portable and high-quality projectors.
Thank you!

Jesus Film Ministry in the Himalayas.

It has not been many years that we used to carry heavy generators and old-fashioned projectors lagging most of the time for miles to share gospels through Jesus’ film to the most unreached remotes areas in the Himalayas.

A 1979 biblical drama film, The Jesus Film is directed by Peter Sykes and John Krish, and produced by John Heyman is obviously a very old movie but the movie dubbed in the Nepali language has become a great asset to impact many lives. Regardless of any caste, color, education, and religion, the main objective of the movie show is to present the abstract of the Bible and Jesus himself.

We are grateful to those helping hands, generous hearts, and like-minded men of God who understood our struggles, visions, and supported with the modern portable and high-quality projectors. Today, the film ministry has become of the most influential and effective way of sharing Gospels to those who cannot read Bibles and even those who cannot see.

Yes, who cannot see. HOW? Well, we are the eyewitnesses of a miraculous incidence where 4 old persons having cataracts came to attend the movie show. Despite unclear eye visions, they wanted to listen to the movie and understand Jesus and the movie touched their hearts and they immediately accepted Jesus.

As the science facts say:

Humans are visual Creatures. Half of the human brain is directly or indirectly devoted to processing visual information. The brain can identify images seen for as little as 13 milliseconds. Al least 65% of people are “visual Learners”. Humans have a remarkable ability to remember pictures. Presentations using visual aids were found to be 43% more persuasive than unaided presentations. Today, RHMI has become successful in presenting Jesus Movie in many unreached remote places in the Himalayas.

We have abundant testimonies of people crying, being touched, and accepting Jesus immediately.

Sharing Gospels through Jesus Film Ministry has become easier, convenient, and effective than words that might raise debates, confusion, and sometimes conflicts.

The Gospel Beyond The Clouds

A journey to the most majestic landscape, the isolated Kingdom, meaning “land of high passes”, Ladakh lives up to its billing. Being the domain of nomadic yak herders once, Ladakh is raddled by the Karakoram and Himalaya Mountains, featuring some of the most stunning Highland scenery on Earth. Rich in ancient trade and pilgrimage trails Ladakh trace ridges in the shadows of snow-capped summits.

The best way to experience Ladakh’s wild beauty is only on two feet. With a well-organized network of teahouses, breath-taking passes rising higher than 5,000 meters and wildlife unseen anywhere else. Perhaps unexpected amidst a landscape defined by mountain peaks and snowfall, Ladakh’s sand dunes speak to the region’s geographical connection to Xinjiang and Central Asia.

The route begins with Spituk Gompa, one of Ladakh’s most important and beautiful monasteries. It then climbs rugged passes, traveling from village to village, before descending to Hemis National Park, which shelters an amazing variety of wildlife: Himalayan bears, red foxes, Tibetan antelope, and the world’s largest population of snow leopards.

Ladakh carrying its own histories like fortifying an empire in one of the world’s most inaccessible regions by Tibetan Buddhist kings, moving in from the east, and bringing Tibetan art, language, dance and food; ornate palaces; and spiritual communities called gompas (known as monasteries in English) are breathtaking.

What a great privilege it is to embark on the Gospels of Jesus Christ, amid the heaven on Earth: Ladakh. The kingdom of God is expanding! The Gospel outreach beyond clouds is surely adventurous, memorable, and full of blessings but boundless too.

Waterfall Of Grace Mountain Training In Village

Blog, It Is Happening, Outreach

Many of the pastors and leaders grew up in strong Hindu or Buddhist families. They are scattered in remote areas without access to the tools and internet to help them learn.

Many works at other jobs while pastoring, and have families they need to continue providing for while reaching and ministering in other villages.

Pastors living in isolated areas, having opposition from non-Christians, and even sometimes from non-believing family members are the greatest hindrance to their ministry.

Our RHMI pastors and leaders are doing a wonderful Ministry though they have very little or no education. In order to continue building more and healthier churches in the Himalayas, we are training and discipline them so they will be rooted and grounded in the Word of God. That is what we have been doing every month. So, with the help of God’s Grace and your partnership we were able to train in the Hilly region. Too much snow in the higher Himalayas to go up there at that time.

There were about 45-50 trained in a remote village. To reach that remote village the team had to leave the road and travel about two hours up a river by bus. The bus crosses the river 11 times during the trip.

We saw the damage to the house. That is from the 2015 Earthquakes. The house is badly cracked. He can’t afford to repair it.

Also, during the training in Makwanpur, we also distributed trekking gear to the RHMI pastors in that area.

Thank you for your partnership in this ministry.

It is always a joy to see people getting saved and being baptized. God rejoices when His people come to Him like a prodigal son. No matter what, He always loves us so much, so we are taking the same love to the unloved people of the remote Himalayas. Altogether, 56 people were baptized who came from strong Hindu and Buddhist family backgrounds. Some pictures are yet to be received from the remote mission field.

Jesus said, “I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it”. With the Lord’s help and your partnership with this ministry, our pastors and people continue to reach out to the lost. We’re growing and growing! God uses our simple brothers and sisters who have no Christian background, no qualification until now, to win souls and plant new churches in the uttermost parts of the unreached areas of our region.

Everywhere we go we preach a simple message of God’s love and His Grace, yet, people are turning to the Lord. This is the power of your prayers!

Just recently I got news from a leader from the mission field one of our brothers who got baptized was badly beaten by the local Hindu religious groups. Not only that, one lady was not allowed to do her final exam in her school because the school principal knew about her conversion to Christianity.

Will you please pray for these brothers and sisters and the intense persecution they are facing now? Your prayers do make a difference.

The Miracle Yak Herd

Blog, It Is Happening, Outreach

This passage came to my mind as I was told the following story:

Luke 12:6-7 6 “Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. 7 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

A yak herder, high in the Himalayas, had a real problem. His whole herd of 12 animals had fallen deathly sick. The yaks must have eaten something poisonous in their dry grass. They were down and getting so weak they could not get up. The mother’s milk stopped because of the sickness, so the calves were near starving as well. The yak herder was worried. This herd was his family’s whole source of food and income. And they were about to lose it all!

The yak herder and his family called the local conjurer (witch doctor). He came and performed incantations and spells. Nothing seemed to be working. They even sacrificed a small goat and poured the blood of the goat over the head of each yak. Nothing happened, the yaks were just getting weaker. So, getting more worried now, the yak herder called the Buddhist lama (priest) to come to pray for his animals. He came and prayed to Buddha to heal the animals. He beat his drum to have a séance to bring up the spirits to heal the yaks. But, again, nothing happened.

Desperate that nothing was working, and the animals were near dying, the yak herder called the pastor of the nearest church. He was away in another village, so they asked for one of the elders of the church to come to pray for their dying animals. The elder immediately went to their place and started praying over the yaks. He anointed each yak with oil made from yak fat. As he prayed and laid hands on each of the yaks, they got up right away and started eating hay. They were very hungry after not eating for several days. The mothers started nursing their calves and they strengthened.

Not long ago, RHMI evangelists had conducted training in God’s Word at that local church. The elder told us he remembered the training and the verses that were taught him. He went right into that yak shed and, in the name of Jesus, took dominion over the spirits that were there. As Jesus had done before, he commanded them to leave and for healing to flow into each of those yaks as he laid his hands on them!

Luke 12:6-7 came to my mind as I heard this story because, the yak herder’s family, all seven of them, gave their hearts to the Lord as the church elder told them about the story of Jesus. They were so happy that their animals were made well.

God created the animals. They are all His and He values each one of them. But He values people more and wants them to come to know His Son, Jesus. When this family saw that this true living God cared for them and their animals, they wanted to serve and worship Him instead of the former gods that would not or could not help them.

Water Buffalo Leads Family To The Lord

Isaiah 55:11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

In a previous newsletter, we told the story of a young lady at one of our training conferences who I gave a Bible to. She became a believer by reading the Word.

About a month later she suddenly died on the trail to another village. Her pastors ran hours to her to pray for her and she was raised from the dead. Many people on the trail became believers as did others in her village. But her father, being a strong Buddhist, did not.

In the fall of the year, this fathers’ buffalo stopped giving milk and its baby calf was dying. He asked his daughter, who read her Bible all the time now, to tie the Bible between the horns of the buffalo in the hopes that the buffalo would start giving milk again. The daughter said she would do better than that. She laid hands on the buffalo and prayed for it. The buffalo started giving milk again and the calf became very healthy!

When the father saw with his own eyes the miracle, he believed in Jesus. He saw that praying to the God of the Bible produced real results. He saw that the words of the Bible carry a real message of love and healing.

All of his prayers to his god went unanswered. All of his words produced nothing. He did not believe when his daughter was raised from the dead. But he did believe when he saw the power in the Word.

God uses different means to draw people to Him. And since He knows the hearts of man, He knows how They CAN be reached!! AMEN!

The ministry in the remote villages through Gospel movies is growing effectively in parts of the Himalayan and Terai regions. Using the micro size modern technologies and equipment with solar power capabilities has helped open the Gospel to people in many unreached areas. Through this ministry, 921 people in our mission field areas saw a film about Jesus for the first time. All thanks to your support, love, and generosity. We are getting more inspired and motivated.
