Jesus said, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst” (John 4:13-14)
Clean water in Nepal and India is a living treasure not taken for granted. Investing in a Living Water Well Project is one of the greatest investments we can make for God’s kingdom.
Since we started the Living Water Well project, we have been able to drill wells for desperately poor Dalit (untouchables) and slum communities, often ravaged by drought. When we construct a “Living Water Well” in a village (always nearby local churches), we are providing opportunities for native pastors to share the love of Jesus with the locals who come for clean water. Not only are the believers encouraged in their faith, but by God’s gracious provision, many communities have been transformed and turned to the love of God-for now and eternity-through the Living water wells. There are thousands of villages where the local church has yet to receive a well, and REACH Himalaya Ministries has committed to drill at least 10 new wells this year.
Living Water Well will not only bless the people with clean, safe water, but will also provide a powerful testimony that daily points them to Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world.
The average cost to drill one of these wells is $1000 (depending on the ground and the depth the shaft has to be sunk to reach water), but it can be as much as $1200 in difficult terrain.
100% of your sponsorship money goes to the field. Nothing is taken out for other expenses.
Jesus said, “The water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life”. John 4:14. When “Living Water Wells” are dug in their village near by the Churches, it provides many opportunities for native pastors to share the love of Jesus with the villagers who come for clean water. Not only are the believers encouraged in their faith, but by God’s gracious provision, hundreds of communities have been transformed-for now and eternity-through the Living water wells.
You can provide a Living Water Well for an entire community, with clean water free to all villagers. By 2016-2017
, we have a vision to provide 30 water wells for 30 villages.
